Mega Drive 1
What cable do I need for my Sega Mega Drive 1 / Genesis 1?
The level entry budget cable supplies composite video and mono sound via the RCA / phono plugs, compatible with most televisions sets. The second and most popular cable is the RGB SCART cable, which is compatible with the Mega Drive 1, Genesis 1 and Master System 1. This supplies mono sound only, therefore, if you want a stereo sound we do supply a stereo sound version which has an additional stereo jack lead which plugs into the front of the console, however, the stereo version is not compatible with the Master System 1. If you are using a SCART to component converter, like the CSY2100 or a clone variant you will need an RGB SCART with RCA sound break out. And finally, we supply a high-end RGB SCART cable, which is constructed using the finest quality gold plated components for serious collectors where quality is paramount. We have named this monster the Packapunch! All RGB SCART cables are compatible with video up-scalers.
